Ink coverage comes first
The Gothic and Dark Botanical designs carry a lot of dark ink edge to edge. Home inkjets band, run out fast and print the burgundy muddy. A local copy shop with a laser or digital press holds the deep tones far better — and a wedding’s worth of paper costs very little.
Paper
250–300 gsm matte or lightly textured card. Avoid gloss; it throws glare across dark panels and flattens gold.
Scale
Print at 100% — never “fit to page”, which quietly shrinks the design and throws the margins off.
The large pieces
Welcome signs (18×24) and seating charts (24×36) belong at a copy shop, sign shop or online poster service. Ask for matte, and consider foam-board mounting so they stand on an easel.
Colour
Screens are backlit, paper is not. Deep tones always print a little darker than they look. Order one test print on the real stock before the full run.
Before the full run
Proofread names and dates out loud, with someone else. Print one test. Look at it under the light you will actually use on the day.
